Miss Missouri Teen USA
The Miss Missouri Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Missouri in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant has been directed by Vanbros since 1993.
Missouri has one of the most successful records at Miss Teen USA, and is ranked eleventh in terms of number and value of placements [1]. They were ranked seventh in the 1990s [2]. Missouri is one of only ten states to have had nine or more semi-finalist (or better) placings [3]. Missouri has also won the Miss Teen USA title, when Marissa Whitley won the crown in South Padre Island, Texas in 2001.
Five Missouri teens have gone on to compete at Miss USA, although only three as Miss Missouri USA. The other two represented Kansas, another Vanbros state.
Two notable Miss Missouri Teen USAs (who both later won the title Miss Missouri USA) are Larissa Meek and Melana Scantlin, who appeared on the reality TV show Average Joe.
